Job summary

Solidus Technical Solutions seeks a Principal Test Systems Engineer onsite in Tucson, AZ, supporting the TSE team on advanced test solutions across a broad missile portfolio. An active Secret clearance is required to participate in design, verification, production, and sustainment activities.

The role is hands-on and multidisciplinary, leveraging MBSE tools to model subsystems, derive requirements, and ensure traceability.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance is required.
• Bachelor of STEM with 8+ years related engineering experience (or STEM Masters with 6+ years).
• Experience in Systems Engineering and test requirements development, integration, verification, and/or validation.
• Experience developing and managing system requirements across a product lifecycle.
• Experience with test activities throughout the product lifecycle.
• Model Based Engineering experience with Rhapsody, Rational Model Manager, Cameo/EA; knowledge of SysML/UML.
• Cultural fit in a collaborative team environment.

• Apply subsystem knowledge and collaborate across engineering disciplines to implement the subsystem model.
• Detail capabilities and derive requirements.
• Communicate test equipment needs to Test Equipment designers.
• Manage requirements and traceability.
• Leverage reuse of Test Environment requirements and models.
• Develop subsystem requirements, interfaces, behaviors, and architecture.
• Interact with Technical SMEs to understand the subsystem and resolve issues.

Solidus is hiring a Principal Test Systems Engineer to support the Test Solution Engineering (TSE) team . In this role, you will be part of a cutting‑edge, multidisciplinary organization responsible for delivering advanced test solutions across a broad missile portfolio. Our team develops and integrates state‑of‑the‑art Windows-based applications and engineering systems used in labs, production environments, and field operations. This is a hands‑on opportunity to contribute to complex, high‑impact programs spanning the full engineering lifecycle-from early demonstrations and design verification to production and sustainment

Day in the Life:

• Apply your knowledge of the subsystem andcollaboratewith other Engineering disciplines todevelopand implement the subsystem model using Model Based System Engineeringtoolsand methods
• Detail capabilities and derive requirements
• Communicate test equipment needs and requirements to Test Equipment designers
• Manage requirements and traceability
• Leverage and apply reuse of Test Environment requirements and models to promote efficiency in test design and development
• Developsubsystem requirements, interfaces, behaviors, and architecture
• Interactwith Technical SMEs as necessary to fullyunderstandthe subsystem including identifying and resolving issues andsupportingrelated subsystem trades or analysis
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Active Secret clearance is required
• Bachelors in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum ofeight (8) years of directly related engineering experience (or a STEM Masters with 6 years related experience)
• Experience in Systems Engineering or other Engineering discipline such as but not limited to emphasis in test requirements development, test methodologies, test requirements documents, integration, verification, and/or validation for test
• Experience with developing, decomposing, and/ or managing system requirements across a product lifecycle such as design and transition to production
• Experience with test related activities throughout the product lifecycle
• Experience with Model Based Engineering processes, techniques, and tools (Rhapsody and IBM Rational Model Manager and/or Cameo Systems Modeler/Enterprise Architect and Teamwork Cloud preferred, and experience with Systems Modeling Language (SysML), and/or Unified Modeling Language (UML)
• Cultural fit amongst a collaborative team environment

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

• Experience with embedded test techniques, design for test, design margin analysis, and/or design for manufacturing
• Experience with Agile processes and techniques
• Experience with Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS)
• Experience problem solving and debugging
• Experience recognizing areas of improvement or customer needs and relaying them to senior staff as business development possibilities
• Experience demonstrating a sense of urgency, prudent risk-taking and adaptive response to challenges.
• Dependingon level of experience, you will provide mentoring and guidance to other team members
