Job summary
Ampcus Inc. in Austin, TX is seeking an experienced STS Modernization Developer to lead the modernization of legacy applications toward scalable, cloud-ready architectures.
The role focuses on analyzing legacy systems, refactoring or rebuilding components, and supporting API and integration modernization across development, deployment, and cutover. The candidate will have strong hands-on development experience across Java, .NET, Node.js, and Python, working with microservices and CI/CD pipelines
Qualifications
- Proven experience with application modernization and legacy transformation.
- Strong hands-on software development experience in modern architectures.
- Experience refactoring and rebuilding components for scalability and maintainability.
- Experience modernizing APIs, integrations, and data flows.
Responsibilities
- Analyze legacy applications and recommend modernization strategies (refactor, rebuild, replatform).
- Design, develop, and implement modern application components using current languages and patterns.
- Refactor outdated components for maintainability, scalability, security, and performance.
- Modernize APIs, integrations, and data flows to current technology standards.
- Work with monolithic, legacy, and on-premises apps to identify decoupling opportunities.
- Develop and support RESTful APIs and microservices-based solutions.
- Collaborate with architects, DevOps engineers, and modernization teams for end-to-end upgrades.
- Troubleshoot complex issues and implement effective solutions.
- Participate in testing, documentation, release management, deployment, and cutover planning.
- Contribute to modernization standards and architectural improvements.
