Job summary

Ampcus Inc. is seeking an experienced STS Modernization Developer to support the modernization of legacy applications and transition outdated systems toward scalable, maintainable, and cloud-ready architectures.

The ideal candidate will analyze legacy apps, refactor or rebuild components, modernize APIs and integrations, and support transformation initiatives from development through deployment and cutover.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in application modernization, legacy system transformation, or application migration.
• Strong hands-on development with Java, .NET, Node.js, or Python.
• Understanding of microservices, REST APIs, CI/CD, and cloud-ready design.
• Experience with legacy apps, monoliths, on-premises infrastructure, and legacy API layers.
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to translate modernization requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze legacy applications and recommend modernization strategies.
• Design, develop, and implement modern components using current languages and patterns.
• Refactor outdated components for maintainability, scalability, security, and performance.
• Modernize APIs and integrations to current standards.
• Work with monolithic, legacy, and on-prem apps to identify decoupling opportunities.
• Develop and support RESTful APIs and microservices-based solutions.
• Collaborate with architects, DevOps, and modernization teams to deliver upgrades.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and implement effective solutions.
• Participate in testing, documentation, release management, deployment, and cutover planning.
• Contribute to modernization standards and architectural improvements.
