Job Description




Dewberry is seeking a responsible, highly motivated, and detail oriented individual to join our structures department in Fresno, CA as a Structures/Project Engineer (Bridge).

The successful candidate will be part of a team designing simple and complex bridges (primarily of concrete and steel construction) and a variety of transportation related structures (retaining walls, culverts, sign structures, and other miscellaneous structures). The candidate will also be involved in the development of Plans, Specifications, and Estimate (PS&E) packages, field inspections, and performing construction design support services. Project Engineering responsibilities include being the technical lead on multidisciplinary teams, utility coordination, right-of-way needs assessments, funding justifications, and other items needed for project development. Required Skills & Required Experience




  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited 4-year engineering college required
  • California Professional Engineer (PE) License required
  • 5+ years of experience in bridge and retaining wall projects
  • Experience designing transportation related structures projects to Caltrans and local agency standards
  • Familiarity with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications with Caltrans Amendments
  • Familiarity with Project Engineering and Project Development to Caltrans and local agency standards
  • Preference for knowledge of CTBridge, CSiBridge, VBent, CTAbut, LPile, and/or similar analysis programs
  • Proficiency using CADD (AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred)
  • Proficient in MS Office (WORD and EXCEL)

Salary Range




The projected range for this position is $90,000 - $140,000 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
