Job summary

HNTB Corporation seeks a Senior Engineering Department Leader to oversee design, development and delivery of project tasks, ensuring scope, budget and quality control. You will guide staff, mentor engineers, and coordinate resources to meet client needs.

The role requires a PE (preferred) and a strong track record in supervising large teams, allocating staff, and driving department growth within a major infrastructure practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 10 years of practical experience including 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops, monitors and manages the department's operating budget in support of the group or office operating budget and forecast updates.
• Manages discipline-specific engineering department and staff development.
• Coordinates department activities, establishes priorities and assigns staff to projects.
• Leads multiple teams and oversees 15–20+ employees.
