Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Reading/Literacy, Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Leadership, or related field.
• Valid Kansas Professional Teaching License as Reading Specialist (highly preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of successful classroom teaching in Kansas with literacy gains.
• Minimum 2 years in instructional coaching or educational leadership using formal coaching frameworks.
• Formal training in Science of Reading/Structured Literacy frameworks (e.g., LETRS).

Responsibilities

• Execute job-embedded instructional coaching with classroom teachers and special education staff.
• Provide non-evaluative, actionable, and behavior-specific feedback to teachers.
• Model explicit, systematic instructional techniques in real-time classrooms.
• Facilitate video-coaching sessions or peer-observation walks.
• Design and deliver workshops and PLCs on Structured Literacy.
• Co-evaluate district literacy curricula and HQIM alignment.
• Partner with Building Leadership Teams to interpret data.
• Coach on using data to form flexible tier groups and targeted sub-skills.
• Monitor program fidelity metrics and student reading growth.
• Maintain coaching data.
