Job summary

Equiliem seeks a Structured Cabling Technician II to install, test, and manage CAT5e/CAT6 cabling in large commercial and government projects. The role focuses on hands-on field work, including routing in IT spaces, installing pathways, and patching cabling per blueprints.

You will work in a construction setting with overtime, potential night shifts, and travel requirements, maintaining safety and organization on site.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years in commercial structured cabling or data cable installation.
• BICSI Level 1 or higher preferred.
• OSHA 10 preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lb and move 75 lb materials.
• Ability to read blueprints and installation plans.

Responsibilities

• Install CAT5e/CAT6 cabling in commercial/government environments.
• Route cables into IT closets and work areas.
• Install cable pathways (J-hooks, D-rings, cable trays).
• Terminate cabling at patch panels, jacks, keystones, RJ-45 connectors.
• Install WAPs and support MDF/IDF spaces.
• Read blueprints and follow installation plans.
• Work safely with PPE and OSHA practices.
