Job summary

Tradewinds Support Partners, LLC is seeking a Level 2 Structured Cabling Technician to ensure that structured cabling infrastructure meets TIA/EIA standards and integrates with other low-voltage systems. You will install, terminate, test, and label cabling while coordinating with project leads on site.

The role requires 5+ years of commercial low-voltage or structured cabling experience, strong copper and fiber installation skills, and the ability to read blueprints and diagrams to support

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in commercial low-voltage or structured cabling.
• Strong copper and fiber optic installation/termination skills.

Responsibilities

• Cabling Installation & Termination: install, terminate, dress, label, and test CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6A, and fiber.
• Testing: test copper and fiber optic using Fluke or equivalent equipment.
• Infrastructure Setup: install patch panels, racks, cabinets, ladder racks, cable trays, J-hooks, MDF/IDF, and related equipment.
• Blueprint Reading: interpret blueprints, floor plans, diagrams, and construction drawings.
• Troubleshooting: diagnose and resolve cabling and connectivity issues with minimal supervision.
• System Integration: install/support access control, CCTV, wireless APs, AV, and other low-voltage systems.
• Safety & Compliance: follow OSHA standards, use PPE, and work safely on ladders, scissor lifts, and aerial equipment.
• Mentoring: guide Level 1 technicians and assist project leads with daily site activities.

Level 2 Structured Cabling Technician ensures that structured cabling infrastructure meets TIA/EIA standards, supports network performance, and integrates with other low‑voltage systems such as access control, CCTV, wireless, and audio‑visual (AV) solutions

Key Responsibilities

• Cabling Installation & Termination: Install, terminate, dress, label, and test CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6A, and fiber optic cables

• Testing: Perform copper and fiber optic testing using Fluke or equivalent certification equipment

• Infrastructure Setup: Install patch panels, racks, cabinets, ladder racks, cable trays, J‑hooks, MDF/IDF, and related equipment

• Blueprint Reading: Interpret blueprints, floor plans, one‑line diagrams, and construction drawings

• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve cabling and connectivity issues with minimal supervision

• System Integration: Install/support access control, CCTV, wireless APs, AV, and other low‑voltage systems
