Job summary

Gulf Island LLC in Houston, TX is seeking a Structural Fitter / Welder to assemble steel frameworks and components such as I-beams and angle irons in our fabrication shop. The role requires reading blueprints, performing multiple welding processes, and ensuring quality per AWS D1.5 tolerances.

You will work indoors, adhere to safety standards, and participate in inventory and maintenance tasks. A minimum of 2 years in structural welding and fitting is expected, with pre-employment drug screening

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in structural welding and fitting.
• Able to pass structural fitter and welder tests.
• Knowledge of AWS D1.5 fitting tolerances.
• Able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, fit, and weld structural metal components per blueprints.
• Operate GMAW, FCAW, and SMAW welding processes as needed.
• Read weld symbols on shop drawings and apply specs.
• Maintain safety, cleanliness and quality in production areas.
• Assist in inventory and perform basic crane operations.
