Job summary

Englobal a Gulf Island Company in Houston is seeking a Structural Fitter to lay out, fit and assemble structural steel components in our fabrication and I&E shop. You will work with angle iron, I-beams and related materials to produce finished parts that meet specified tolerances.

Requirements include 2+ years in structural fitting, passing a 45-degree cut test, knowledge of AWS D1.5 tolerances, and successful drug and background checks.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in structural fitting within a fabrication environment.
• Must be able to pass a structural fitter test (45 degree cut out I Beam with torch).
• Knowledge of AWS D1.5 fitting tolerances.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen.
• Must be able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, position, align and fit together fabricated parts according to blueprint and layout specifications.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by effective communication with customers, coworkers and supervisors.
• Perform daily cleaning and maintenance of area.
• Work in a safe and conscientious manner.
• Assist in yearly audited inventory process.
• Operate cutting and heating torches and perform accurate simple heat corrections.
