Job summary

Gulf Island LLC in Houston, TX is seeking a Structural Welder for fabrication shop work assembling and welding structural components such as angle iron, I-beams and steel frameworks using GMAW, FCAW or SMAW. The role requires 2+ years of structural welding experience and the ability to read weld symbols, pass a 3G test on 1/2 inch carbon steel, and pass pre-employment screening.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in structural welding within a fabrication environment.
• Must be able to pass a structural welder test (3G on 1/2" carbon steel plate).
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Read and interpret weld symbols on shop drawings and prints.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and weld structural framework and components using GMAW, FCAW or SMAW.
• Tack weld in all positions using multiple welding processes.
• Operate grinding equipment and perform basic cutting tasks where needed.
• Maintain a safe, clean work area and adhere to quality standards.
