Job summary

Alamo Structural Steel, LLC in Texas is seeking a Fitter/Welder to fabricate a wide range of miscellaneous metal projects. You will prepare, assemble, and tack weld parts and surfaces, using flame-cutting and hand-welding equipment to join components.

You must read blueprints, maintain shop tools and be able to pass a welding test (MIG/TIG). We offer day and night shifts with a $2.00 night differential and full-time benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience in a structural welding environment preferred.
• Ability to pass a Fillet Weld Test.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, assemble, and tack weld parts and surfaces to be welded.
• Maintain, organize, and keep work area and equipment in operating condition.
• Hand-weld and/or flame-cut equipment to join metal components.
• Cut and scarf using an oxy-acetylene torch.
• Structural welding using FCAW & SMAW.
• Read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
• Align and fit parts according to specifications.
• Operate weld setups safely and efficiently.
