Alamo Structural Steel, LLC is seeking a Fitter/Welder to fabricate a wide range of miscellaneous metal projects. Responsibilities include cutting and welding using flame-cutting and hand-welding equipment, and reading blueprints to ensure parts meet specifications.

Day shift runs Monday through Friday, 6:00am–2:30pm; Weekend shift Friday–Sunday, 5:00am–5:30pm, with 36 hours paid as 40 hours and a $3/hour weekend differential. Minimum starting pay is $22–$30 per hour, depending on experience.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience in a structural welding environment is preferred.
Ability to pass a Fillet Weld Test.

Responsabilités

Prepare, assemble, and tack weld parts and surfaces to be welded.
Maintain, organize, and keep work area and equipment in operating condition.
Hand-weld and/or flame-cut equipment to join metal components.
Cut and scarf using an oxy-acetylene torch.
Structural welding using FCAW & SMAW.
Align and fit parts according to specifications using jacks, turnbuckles, wedges, drift pins, pry bars, and hammers.
Properly assemble and disassemble weld setups.
Remove high spots and cut bevels using hand files, portable grinders, and cutting torches.
Reshape metal workpieces to establish specifications.
Performs other duties as assigned.
