Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Structural Welder to join our team in Destrehan, Louisiana. The ideal candidate will have experience welding structural steel in a construction or industrial environment and a strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship. This role involves welding structural components in accordance with project drawings, approved welding procedures, and applicable project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Weld structural steel components, including beams, columns, supports, braces, and plates, as directed by project drawings.
• Read and interpret fabrication drawings, weld symbols, and work instructions.
• Prepare and clean joints and check fit-up before welding.
• Use the welding processes, consumables, and settings specified for the assigned work.
• Inspect completed welds and communicate defects or concerns to supervision and quality personnel.
• Coordinate with structural fitters and other crew members to maintain safe and efficient workflow.
• Follow hot-work, fire-prevention, fall-protection, and other applicable site safety procedures.
• Inspect welding equipment and maintain an orderly work area.

Qualifications

• Valid TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) card required.
• Reliable transportation to the assigned job site.
• Experience welding structural steel in a construction or industrial environment.
• Ability to read structural drawings and welding symbols.
• Ability to follow welding procedures and project quality requirements.
• Working knowledge of welding equipment, hand tools, power tools, and safe work practices.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Stick, Flux Core, and/or MIG welding for structural applications.
• Experience working on industrial structural steel projects.
• Familiarity with weld inspection, joint preparation, and distortion control.
