We are seeking a highly experienced Structural Transmission Line Engineer to join a growing team focused on delivering large-scale utility transmission projects across North America. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex structural challenges in high-voltage transmission line design. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, leadership ability, and a strong foundation in structural engineering principles as applied to T&D infrastructure.

As a critical member of the Transmission Line Engineering team, you will be responsible for leading structural analysis and design efforts, ensuring technical excellence, compliance with relevant codes and standards, and alignment with client objectives. Projects range in voltage from 69 kV to 500 kV, with a strong emphasis on PLS-CADD and structural modeling tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead structural design for transmission lines (steel poles, lattice towers, wood/laminate structures)
• Perform structural and foundation analysis using PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and LPILE
• Prepare and review structural deliverables including drawings, load diagrams, foundation designs, and specs
• Apply NESC, ASCE, AISC, and ACI standards to ensure code compliance and quality
• Collaborate with internal teams and clients to support siting, design, and construction phases
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and resolve technical challenges across project stages
• Attend meetings and site visits as needed to support project execution and client engagement

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (ABET accredited)
• PE or SE license in the State of Washington (Required)
• 10+ years of experience in structural design for transmission line projects
• Strong proficiency with PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and structural analysis software (e.g., LPILE, MFAD, STAAD)
• Familiarity with applicable codes: NESC, ASCE 10, ASCE 48, ACI, AISC
• Experience with full lifecycle project execution in utility or engineering consulting environments
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to present technical content clearly to clients and internal teams
• Ability to travel occasionally for field assessments, construction support, or client meetings

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience working on Power Transmission & Distribution (T&D) projects for utilities or large-scale EPCs
• Experience leading small engineering teams or mentoring junior engineers
