RCS Staffing has an immediate need for a Transmission Line Engineer in Georgia. This is a full time, direct hire, remote position with our client. Candidate must live in Georgia to attend occasional onsite meetings.

Overview of YOUR role as a Transmission Line Engineer

Our client is seeking a motivated and skilled Transmission Line Engineer to support the planning, design, and execution of overhead high-voltage transmission line projects. This role involves structural analysis, route selection, and the development of technical documentation in compliance with industry standards.

As a Transmission Line Engineer YOU will:

• Design and analyze overhead transmission lines (69kV – 500kV) in accordance with NESC, IEEE, ASCE, and other applicable standards.
• Utilize software tools such as PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and TOWER to support line layout and structural modeling.
• Prepare project documentation including construction drawings, specifications, and bill of materials.
• Perform structure spotting, route selection studies, and line profile development.
• Coordinate with surveyors, GIS teams, environmental consultants, and utility clients.
• Support project permitting, cost estimating, and quality assurance activities.
• Provide technical input during project meetings and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.

YOU are the ideal Transmission Line Engineer candidate if you have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Electrical Engineering.
• 5 years of experience in transmission line engineering.
• Proficiency in PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and AutoCAD.
• Working knowledge of industry codes and standards (NESC, IEEE, ASCE).
• EIT certification (required); PE license preferred or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.

It’s a BONUS if you have:

• Prior experience working with electric utility companies or engineering consulting firms.
• Familiarity with LiDAR data and GIS-based design integration.
• Knowledge of foundation design or geotechnical engineering related to transmission structures.
• Experience with TOWER software and other structural analysis tools.
