Job summary

Bay County is seeking a full-time Building Maintenance Technician to support disaster readiness and daily facility upkeep across county buildings. The role covers general and specialized tasks in construction, renovation, installation, and repair of equipment and facilities.

The position requires carpentry, painting, roofing, electrical, plumbing, and grounds maintenance skills, with on-site work and potential overtime. A valid Florida driver license and safe work record are required.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Two (2) years’ experience in building maintenance/repair at journeyman level.
Possession of or ability to obtain Florida driver license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

Performs general and specialized tasks in construction, renovation, modification, installation, and repair of buildings, equipment, and facilities.
Performs carpentry work to repair/replace framing, sheetrock, flooring, doors, and windows.
Performs tile work, plastering, concrete, masonry, and roof maintenance.
Performs painting on interiors and exteriors, doors, and frames.
Performs routine electrical repairs and lighting replacements; maintains safety practices.
Performs general landscaping and grounds maintenance; orders supplies and submits invoices.
