Bay County is seeking a full-time Building Maintenance Technician to support disaster readiness and daily facility upkeep across county buildings. The role covers general and specialized tasks in construction, renovation, installation, and repair of equipment and facilities.

The position requires carpentry, painting, roofing, electrical, plumbing, and grounds maintenance skills, with on-site work and potential overtime. A valid Florida driver license and safe work record are required.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two (2) years’ experience in building maintenance/repair at journeyman level.
• Possession of or ability to obtain Florida driver license with acceptable driving record.

• Performs routine electrical repairs and lighting replacements; maintains safety practices.
• Performs general landscaping and grounds maintenance; orders supplies and submits invoices.

Ability to have and maintain good interpersonal and communication skills to deal with the public.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:Work is performed indoors as well as outdoors with exposure to all weather conditions; some work requires being on the roofs of buildings, inside attics, floor crawlspaces. Position involves working from rooftops, inside attics, above ceilings, floor crawl spaces and basements.This position requires some exposure or risk to physical health and/or physical safety (e.g., exposure to environmentally hazardous material, heavy equipment, etc.). This position may require the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and may include completing and successfully passing medical evaluations or clearances.This position requires stooping, crouching, walking, pulling, lifting, grasping, hearing, visual acuity (i.e. seeing up close, seeing far away, depth perception), kneeling, reaching, pushing, talking, standing, climbing, finger movement, repetitive motions. This position may require frequent lifting and carrying of 25-50lbs, and occasionally up to 100lbs.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:Must be available to perform occasional work beyond normal business hours.Must be available perform on-call duty during designated times throughout the year.WORK LOCATION:Not Eligible for Remote Work - This position is assigned to a county worksite.
