Job summary

Qualdoc in York, PA is seeking an experienced Welding & Fitting Foreman to lead second-shift shop operations. This role oversees welders, fitters, production activities, equipment, materials, scheduling, and quality, ensuring work is completed safely and on time.

The candidate will lead welders and fitters, manage daily fabrication activities, and coordinate with other departments to meet delivery deadlines while maintaining production standards and procedures.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• > Lead and provide direction to welders, fitters, and other shop employees.

• < Maintain and update production and fabrication schedules.
• < Coordinate deliveries and adjust workflow to meet project deadlines.
• < Develop and maintain standard fabrication procedures.
• < Monitor finished work and maintain quality control standards.
• < Review production processes and recommend improvements to efficiency, employee performance, and quality.
• < Coordinate with other departments and facilities regarding schedules, production status, quality, and deliveries.
• < Maintain shop equipment and facility needs.
• < Work with vendors and suppliers to maintain effective relationships.
• < Monitor workload and communicate staffing or production needs to management.
• < Track inventory and coordinate material needs with the first-shift foreman, operations management, and purchasing.

Starting Rate: $39.00/hour + $3.00 2nd shift differential (higher depending on experience)

Qualifications

• Previous foreman, supervisor, or management experience required
• Strong working knowledge of the structural steel fabrication industry
• Demonstrated ability to oversee and lead welders and fitters
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced fabrication environment
• Must be available for 2nd shift, overtime, and Saturdays as needed
