Job summary

Qualdoc in York, PA is seeking an experienced Welding & Fitting Foreman to lead second-shift shop operations. This role oversees welders, fitters, production activities, equipment, materials, scheduling, and quality, ensuring work is completed safely and on time.

The candidate will lead welders and fitters, manage daily fabrication activities, and coordinate with other departments to meet delivery deadlines while maintaining production standards and procedures.

Qualifications

• > Structural steel fabrication industry experience required.
• < Leadership experience overseeing welders and fitters required.
• < Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
• < Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• < Availability for 2nd shift, overtime, and Saturdays as needed.

Responsibilities

• > Lead and provide direction to welders, fitters, and other shop employees.
• < Oversee daily fabrication activities, personnel, equipment, tools, and materials.
• < Ensure company policies, safety requirements, and quality procedures are followed.
• < Maintain and update production and fabrication schedules.
• < Coordinate deliveries and adjust workflow to meet project deadlines.
• < Develop and maintain standard fabrication procedures.
• < Monitor finished work and maintain quality control standards.
• < Review production processes and recommend improvements to efficiency, employee performance, and quality.
• < Coordinate with other departments and facilities regarding schedules, production status, quality, and deliveries.
• < Maintain shop equipment and facility needs.
• < Work with vendors and suppliers to maintain effective relationships.
• < Monitor workload and communicate staffing or production needs to management.
• < Track inventory and coordinate material needs with the first-shift foreman, operations management, and purchasing.
• < Determine staffing and work hours needed to meet delivery schedules.
• < Make day-to-day decisions that support production goals and company interests.
