Job summary

SunSteel LLC seeks a Structural Steel Project Engineer in Vancouver, WA to oversee detailing operations with the project manager and teams. You will ensure project goals are met and maintain ongoing communication with clients and internal teams.

The role emphasizes schedule discipline and issue resolution while supporting a strong safety culture. The position requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 3–5 years of related experience; familiarity with AISC, AWS, ASTM, and OSHA is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 3–5 years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of AISC, AWS, ASTM, and OSHA requirements preferred.
• Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
• Effective communication and strong customer orientation.
• Effective problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Responsibilities

• Oversee detailing operations in conjunction with project manager and teams.
• Coordinate shop and erection drawings; manage RFIs and communication with customers.
• Maintain load lists and drawings log; assist with fabrication files.
• Evaluate field problems and provide field drawings as needed.
• Monitor project schedule and communicate needs to Project Manager.
• Visit job sites as required to ensure project expectations are met.
