Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Structural Steel Plant Manager in Gallaway, TN to lead two facilities on two shifts, directing production supervisors and ensuring safe, efficient operations. You’ll oversee 65–90 employees, manage 5–6 direct reports, and drive on-time delivery while upholding quality standards across varying fabrication processes.

The ideal candidate has extensive structural steel fabrication experience with AWS D1.1 familiarity, AISC experience, and a hands-on leadership style to mentor

Qualifications

• 7+ years of structural steel fabrication experience.
• 5+ years of leadership experience in fabrication or manufacturing.
• Extensive knowledge of AWS D1.1; CWI certification preferred but not required.
• Experience in an AISC-certified shop or manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of SSPC and ASTM coating requirements.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily fabrication operations across two facilities.
• Lead two shifts and guide supervisors and shop leads.
• Ensure safety, quality, and on-time production and shipping.
• Coordinate schedules and monitor productivity improvements.
• Support recruiting, retention, and workforce development.
• Identify issues early to prevent production delays.
• Collaborate with operations and other departments for smooth flow.
