Job summary
Qualdoc in Gallaway, TN seeks a Steel Fabrication Operations Manager to lead production across two facilities and two shifts, directing production supervisors and ensuring safety, equipment upkeep, productivity, and on-time deliveries.
The ideal candidate has a strong structural steel fabrication background, experience with AWS D1.1 and AISC-certified environments, knowledge of coating requirements, and hands-on leadership across multiple projects.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of structural steel fabrication experience.
- 5+ years of leadership in fabrication, manufacturing, or production.
- Experience with AWS D1.1; CWI certification preferred but not required.
- U.S. work eligibility required.
Responsibilities
- Direct daily fabrication activities across two facilities and shifts.
- Lead approximately 65 employees, with growth toward 90 and 5–6 supervisors.
- Establish priorities and coordinate production schedules to meet shipping requirements.
- Promote safe work practices and ensure proper facility and equipment maintenance.
- Monitor fabrication efficiency, quality, and workflow across departments.
- Provide leadership in Receiving/Inventory, CNC Processing, Fabrication/Welding, Paint, and Shipping.
- Support hiring, retention, and succession planning.
