Job summary

Accelevation LLC seeks a skilled Structural Steel Installer to build and install structural systems that support data center infrastructure across the United States. You will install beams, columns, Unistrut and seismic bracing while reading drawings and ensuring safe, high-elevation work.

Travel up to 75% is required. Ideal candidates have experience with structural steel erection, rigging, welding, and operating aerial lifts; OSHA 10 is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Experience reading and interpreting structural drawings and shop drawings.
  • Experience working safely at heights with fall protection.
  • Experience with structural steel erection and installation in industrial/construction environments.

Responsibilities

  • Install structural steel including beams, columns, braces, embeds, and framing.
  • Install structural supports, Unistrut systems, seismic bracing, and steel assemblies for electrical infrastructure.
  • Read and interpret structural drawings, shop drawings, blueprints, and layout plans.
  • Align, level, and secure structural members using standard tools.
  • Assemble and install bolted structural steel connections per specifications.
  • Verify layout, elevation, plumb, level and alignment before final installation.

Your Impact

As a Structural Steel Installer, you will build and install the structural systems that support mission-critical data center infrastructure across the United States. This role plays a vital part in the construction of data centers by installing structural framing, support systems, hot and cold aisle containment (H/CAC), Unistrut systems, and miscellaneous steel components that support electrical and mechanical infrastructure.

Successful candidates have experience working with structural steel, interpreting construction drawings, operating safely at heights, and using industry-standard installation tools. Individuals with rigging, welding, or metal building construction experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Install structural steel including beams, columns, braces, embeds, miscellaneous steel, and support framing.
  • Install structural supports, Unistrut systems, seismic bracing, and steel assemblies for mission-critical electrical infrastructure.
  • Read and interpret structural drawings, shop drawings, blueprints, layout plans, and installation details.
  • Align, level, and secure structural members using spud wrenches, drift pins, impact tools, torque wrenches, and other industry-standard equipment.
  • Assemble and install bolted structural steel connections in accordance with engineering specifications.
  • Verify layout, elevation, plumb, level, and alignment prior to final installation.
  • Assist with rigging, signaling, and guiding structural steel during crane picks when qualified.
  • Install anchors and verify torque requirements per project specifications.
  • Utilize lasers, tape measures, levels, and layout equipment to ensure accurate installation.
  • Operate aerial lifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, Telehandler and other approved equipment safely.
  • Perform field modifications and basic fabrication as required.
  • Perform welding when qualified and authorized (preferred but not required).
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and site-specific safety requirements.
  • Collaborate with field leadership and fellow crew members to meet production schedules while maintaining exceptional quality.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Two or more years of structural steel erection, steel installation, industrial construction, commercial construction, or related experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and shop drawings.
  • Experience working safely at heights while utilizing fall protection.
  • Experience operating aerial lifts.
  • OSHA 10 certification preferred (OSHA 30 is a plus).
  • Ability to travel extensively to project locations throughout the United States.
  • Valid driver's license preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Must frequently lift up to 75 lbs, work at heights, climb ladders and lifts, wear PPE, and perform physical construction activities in varying environments.

Physical requirements include bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, climbing, kneeling, balancing, pushing, pulling, and reaching overhead. Must lift at least 50 lbs, raise arms above shoulder level, and perform overhead work for extended periods. The ability to climb and carry ladders (up to 12 ft), navigate stairways, and work at heights up to 90 ft using ladders, scaffolds, or lifts is essential.

Employees must access restricted areas (e.g., switchgear rooms, vaults, tunnels, crawl spaces) and wear full PPE. Good vision and hearing (normal or corrected) and accurate color identification are required. Some projects may lack food facilities, so bringing meals and snacks is necessary.
