Job summary

Accelevation is seeking a Safety Technician to support the implementation and monitoring of safety policies across projects. Based in Dallas, TX, this role involves heavy travel to job sites and close collaboration with the Safety Manager to inspect sites, document training, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

You will conduct inspections, help manage PPE, maintain records, and assist in incident investigations while promoting a proactive safety culture on every assignment.

Qualifications

  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • Basic knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety best practices.
  • 1–2 years of construction-related experience.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn safety software.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and take direction from supervisors.
  • Willingness to travel to job sites as required.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a strong safety culture by communicating expectations to all employees.
  • Assist in implementing safety programs with the Safety Manager and Safety Coordinator.
  • Conduct routine job site safety inspections to identify hazards and verify PPE use.
  • Report unsafe conditions and support immediate corrective actions.
  • Maintain and inspect safety equipment and PPE; ensure availability.
  • Maintain safety records, training logs, and inspection reports.
  • Participate in incident investigations and assist in reporting procedures.
  • Assist in coordinating and tracking employee safety training requirements.
  • Support the Substance Abuse Policy and Safety Recognition Program.
  • Participate in toolbox talks, JSAs, and other safety-related meetings.
  • Assist in implementing all other safety-related initiatives.

Your Impact

The Safety Technician supports the implementation and monitoring of company safety policies and procedures under the direction of the Safety Manager or Regional Safety Manager. This role focuses on assisting in jobsite inspections, safety documentation, training coordination, and compliance activities across projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the promotion of a strong safety culture by encouraging safe work practices and communicating safety expectations to all employees.
  • Assist in implementing and monitoring safety programs and initiatives in coordination with the Safety Manager and Safety Coordinator.
  • Conduct routine job site safety inspections to identify hazards, ensure proper use of PPE, and verify compliance with safety regulations and procedures.
  • Report unsafe conditions or practices and support immediate corrective actions when hazards are observed.
  • Help maintain and inspect safety equipment and PPE to ensure availability and functionality.
  • Maintain and organize safety records, training logs, inspection reports, and related documentation.
  • Participate in incident investigations by gathering information, photos, and statements, and assisting in reporting procedures.
  • Assist in coordinating and tracking employee safety training requirements and certifications.
  • Support the administration of the company’s Substance Abuse Policy and Safety Recognition Program.
  • Participate in toolbox talks, job safety analysis (JSAs), and other safety-related meetings as assigned.
  • Assist in the implementation of all other safety related initiatives as directed.
Minimum Qualifications
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • Basic knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety best practices.
  • 1-2 years of construction-related experience.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and willingness to learn safety software.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and take direction from supervisors.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work independently in the field.
  • Willingness to travel to job sites as required.

  • STS-C, CHST, or other recognized safety certification

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Work is performed in a data center environment, which may include exposure to electrical hazards, noise, and varying temperatures.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as required by the needs of the project demands.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead.
  • Lift arms above shoulder level.
  • Lift minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Climb ladders (all types of step ladders, frame ladders, and all size extension ladders). Be able to go up and down stairways daily. Perform work at various heights, ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, or other safe work areas.
  • Work in restricted areas: switchgear rooms, manholes, vaults, trenches, utility tunnels, crawl spaces, and attics or other spaces required to perform electrical work.
  • Be able to wear all (PPE) Personal Protection Equipment.
  • Complete overhead work for a full day assignment.
  • Must be able to make transition from employee parking or street into construction work areas and to gain access to all levels of the building, even if the only means of access is by OSHA approved site construction ladder or stairs still under construction but acceptable and safe to use.
  • Good vision and hearing (normal or corrected). Correctly identify colors.
  • Since some projects are located where there are no places to eat lunch or obtain food you would be required to bring your lunch and any necessary snacks or drinks.
  • Able to utilize job site sanitary facilities.
