Job Description

Midsouth Steel, a leader in the fabrication and erection of steel stairs, rails, and other miscellaneous steel components, has an immediate need for experienced Field Welders. This is a full-time, on-site role for projects in the Charlotte, NC area and surrounding cities.

The Team Member will be responsible for:

1. Assembling steel structures
2. Working with power tools and welding equipment
3. Handling iron and steel components
4. Ensuring safety and fall protection
5. Rigging and safely lifting steel components
6. Following blueprints and technical drawings
7. Collaborating with team members to complete projects efficiently

This position is typically Monday through Friday, with occasional work on weekends.

Qualifications

• OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30 preferred
• Certifications in welding, forklift, scissor lift, and rigging
• Experience working with power tools and welding equipment
• Proficiency in handling iron and steel components
• Knowledge of fall protection and safety measures
• Skills in rigging and lifting steel components
• Excellent physical stamina and ability to work at heights
• Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret technical drawings
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Relevant certifications or training in steel erecting or related fields
