Job Title: Welder/Fabricator (NIGHT SHIFT)

Location: Charlotte, NC

Company Overview:

Bendel Tank and Heat Exchanger, LLC, a division of TransTech Energy, LLC, is a growing company servicing the Chemical and Industrial markets. We manufacture stainless steel and alloy vessels and heat exchangers up to 75,000 gallons and 15’ diameter, and are expanding our footprint to meet growing demand.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Welder to join our night shift team, specializing in the fabrication and welding of tanks and vessels. The ideal candidate will interpret blueprints and technical drawings to plan and execute precise layouts, utilizing TIG, MIG, and plasma cutting techniques. Experience in welding, fabricating, and fitting is required. Work hours are 6pm-6am, Monday through Thursday, with potential for overtime.

Primary functions and duties:

1. Interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements to plan layouts.
2. Operate specialized welding equipment including TIG, MIG, and plasma cutters.
3. Fit, fabricate, and weld components for tanks and vessels, such as nozzles, manways, ladders, handrails, and platforms, including pipe joints, tube to tube sheets, and thermal jackets.
4. Follow and enforce strict safety regulations, including wearing safety glasses, heat-resistant gloves, masks, and safety shoes.
5. Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions using manual or semi-automatic equipment.
6. Maintain equipment safety and ensure good housekeeping.
7. Work a minimum of 40 hours per week, with overtime as needed. Current schedule is 48 hours/week, Monday through Friday.
8. Collaborate with team members to ensure high quality standards while welding stainless steel, carbon steel, and high nickel alloys.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

1. Ability to read and utilize blueprints for layout and construction.
2. Understanding of measurements and measurements reading.
3. Experience in layout, fitting, and welding of nozzles and parts inside and outside tanks per drawings.
4. Ability to operate an overhead crane.
5. Must pass ASME 6G SCH.80 (SA312TP316L) 2" pipe test using GTAW.
6. Must pass ASME 2G plate (SA36 & SA240-304) test using GMAW.
7. Must pass drug test and background check.
8. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work safely from ladders, and work inside tanks or vessels.
9. Proficiency in TIG and MIG welding; pulsed MIG experience is a plus.
10. Experience working with stainless steel, carbon steel, and high nickel alloys.

Salary:

• $52,000 to $67,000, depending on experience and skills.
