Job summary

Tarrier Steel in Columbus, OH is seeking skilled fabricators and welders for 1st and 2nd shifts. You will read drawings, identify piece marks, and interpret weld symbols to fabricate structural steel components.

You will perform layout, measurement, tack welding, and cutting, maintain safety, and work with CNC operators, foremen, welders, and QC personnel to ensure quality and on-time delivery. Candidates should be proficient in tape measure reading, shop math, blueprint reading, and MIG

Qualifications

• Experience in structural steel fabrication and welding.
• Ability to read and interpret structural steel shop drawings and weld symbols.
• Proficiency in layout, fitting, and fabrication of structural steel.
• Proven welding experience and safe operation of overhead cranes.

Responsibilities

• Identify piece marks, drawing revisions and finish codes.
• Determine required parts, quantities, shapes, and grades.
• Read shop drawings and weld symbols; understand part orientation.
• Perform layout, measuring, marking, and tack welding.
• Carry out thermal cutting (oxy-fuel/plasma) and grinding as required.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Operate overhead cranes and power tools; collaborate with CNC operators and QC.
