Job summary

Deploy's Client is seeking a detail-oriented Welder for manufacturing, specializing in layout and fabrication of structural steel to build metal structures. Responsibilities include reading blueprints, welding and cutting steel, and working with reinforcing bars.

Candidate should pass a 3G FCAW test, measure with precision tools, and operate cranes/forklifts. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Experience with structural steel fabrication.
• FCAW welding experience; able to pass 3G test.
• Experience reading blueprints and steel layout/fit up.
• Experience cutting, drilling, and assembling steel components.
• Experience operating cranes and forklifts.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints for structural steel fabrications.
• Pass 3G 1 thick plate test with backing in accordance with AWS D1.1 using FCAW.
• Layout and cut miters and copes using hand torch.
• Read tape measure and weld structural steel parts within 1/16" tolerance.
• Operate cranes and forklifts and pass in-house certification.
• Direct crane operations to move structural steel into fabrication process.
• Make, weld, cut, and drill structural steel in fabrication area.
• Fabricate subassemblies for structural steel.
• Drill holes for bolted connections.
• Unload trucks and organize material.
• Number steel according to blueprints.
• Use laser, plumb bobs, and levels to verify alignment.
