Job summary

You will join Rotex in Cincinnati, OH as a MIG Welder/Fabricator on 2nd shift. You will perform MIG, FCAW, and SMAW welding on carbon steel and ferrous materials, following WPS and engineering drawings.

The role includes fabrication of assemblies from light gauge to heavy plate, layout with precision tools, and all-position welding in a safety-conscious shop. Working from drawings, you’ll use fixtures, clamps, and gauges to ensure quality welds, perform joint prep, and participate in

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on welding and fabrication experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Proven skill in MIG (GMAW), flux-core (FCAW), and stick (SMAW) welding on carbon steel or ferrous materials.
• Welding certification from an accredited institution and ability to weld to a WPS.
• Ability to read and apply fabrication blueprints and welding symbols for fit-up and sequence.
• Experience with pre-hire evaluation testing and reading weld symbols.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG, FCAW, and SMAW welding on ferrous components per WPS.
• Prepare joints, fit-up, tack weld, torch cut, and weld out to spec.
• Fabricate weldments from 16-gauge to heavy plate per drawings and specs.
• Use calipers, squares, straightedges, and rulers to lay out and align parts.
• Clamp, fixture, and jig components for accurate assembly.
• Interpret drawings and welding symbols to determine welds and sequences.
• Perform all-position welding as required by project specs.
• Conduct pre-weld and post-weld inspections for dimensional accuracy and quality.
• Carry out routine maintenance on welding equipment and identify needed repairs.
• Other duties as assigned within fabrication.
