Job summary

Commercial Steel Erection, Inc. is seeking a Connector (Full Time) in Madison Heights, VA to join the Steel Erection department.

You will work as a crew member to raise, place, and join beams and other structural steel members to form completed structures safely and consistently. Responsibilities include inspecting hazards, setting up hoisting equipment, connecting steel members, and complying with OSHA and site rules.

Qualifications

• One to two years of experience in a steel erection or construction environment.
• Ability to read safety rules and procedure manuals.
• Basic math skills for measurements and quantities.
• Ability to follow instructions and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with inspection of hazards and set up hoisting equipment for lifting steel members.
• Unload steel and place in lay down area, secure with slings or ropes.
• Bolt, weld, and assemble steel components as required.
• Follow OSHA and site rules and use fall protection when working at height.
• Coordinate with crane operators and signal for lifts as trained.
