Job summary

Midsouth Steel LLC. is seeking dependable Field Crew Members for structural steel erection in the Kings Mountain, NC region. The role involves reading drawings, welding, and travel across the Carolinas and Virginia as project needs require.

Candidates must be safety-minded, physically capable, and reliable, able to work as part of a team in a demanding construction environment. Prior steel erection and site experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous construction and structural steel experience required.
• Welding experience required, with stick and/or MIG welding preferred.
• Ability to read and understand shop drawings, blueprints, and construction prints.
• Strong ability to read and accurately use a tape measure (to 1/16 inch).
• Ability to safely use common construction tools and equipment.
• Ability to work outdoors in physically demanding conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural steel erection and installation activities per project plans and procedures.
• Assist with layout, assembly, fitting, positioning, and installation of structural steel components.
• Weld using stick and MIG processes; TIG and flux-core experience is a plus.
• Read shop drawings, erection drawings, blueprints, and construction prints.
• Ensure accurate measurements to 1/16 inch and maintain safe, organized work areas.
• Collaborate with field crew, foremen, and project managers; follow safety rules and OSHA regulations.
