Job summary

MK Consulting Group is seeking a Structural Steel Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and completion of structural steel projects nationwide. You will ensure delivery on time, within budget, and to the required specifications, coordinating with engineers, fabricators, erectors, and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities include developing schedules and budgets, managing change orders, ensuring quality and safety, and communicating project status to clients and subcontractors.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in project management, particularly in structural steel construction.
  • Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication, erection, and construction practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to identify and resolve complex problems.
  • Ability to lead and motivate project teams.
  • Ability to manage project budgets and track costs.
  • Familiarity with project management software, such as MS Project, and other relevant software applications.

  • Project Planning and Execution: Developing and maintaining project schedules, budgets, and timelines.
  • Team Leadership: Managing and coordinating project teams, including engineers, fabricators, erectors, and other subcontractors.
  • Client and Stakeholder Management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, general contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Budget Management: Ensuring all materials, labor, and equipment costs are accurately included in estimates and managing project expenses.
  • Change Management: Monitoring and reviewing changes in project scope, cost, and schedule, and managing the change order process.
  • Quality Control: Ensuring all work is completed according to quality standards and safety regulations.
  • Risk Management: Identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Communication: Effectively communicating project status, updates, and issues to all stakeholders.
  • Subcontractor Management: Selecting and managing subcontractors, including negotiating contracts and coordinating their activities.
  • Document Control: Maintaining accurate project documentation, including shop drawings, field drawings, and other project-related information.
  • Closeout Process: Managing the project closeout process, including final inspections, punch lists, and final payment applications.
