Job summary

MK Consulting Group in Indianapolis is seeking a Structural Steel Project Manager to lead planning, execution, and closeout of structural steel projects nationwide, ensuring on-time delivery and budget adherence.

You will coordinate engineers, fabricators, erectors, and subcontractors, manage change orders, monitor safety and quality, and communicate project status to clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in project management, particularly in structural steel construction.
• Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication, erection, and construction practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to identify and resolve complex problems.
• Ability to lead and motivate project teams.
• Ability to manage project budgets and track costs.
• Familiarity with MS Project and other project management software.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and timelines.
• Lead and coordinate project teams including engineers, fabricators, erectors, and subcontractors.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, general contractors, and stakeholders.
• Ensure materials, labor, and equipment costs are included in estimates and manage expenses.
• Monitor changes in scope, cost, and schedule and manage change orders.
• Oversee quality control to meet standards and safety regulations.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Communicate project status, updates, and issues to stakeholders.
• Select and manage subcontractors and coordinate their work.
• Maintain accurate project documentation (shop drawings, field drawings).
• Manage project closeout, inspections, punch lists, and final payments.

Structural Steel Project Manager oversees the planning, execution, and completion of structural steel projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required specifications. Manage all aspects of the project, from initial planning and budgeting to final completion, including coordinating with various teams and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Planning and Execution: Developing and maintaining project schedules, budgets, and timelines.
• Team Leadership: Managing and coordinating project teams, including engineers, fabricators, erectors, and other subcontractors.
• Client and Stakeholder Management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, general contractors, and other stakeholders.
