Job summary

McMillen, Inc. is seeking a Structural Staff Engineer (EIT) to join our team in the water resources and civil infrastructure sector. The role covers engineering and design development for dams, fisheries facilities, bridges, penstocks, pump stations and hydroelectric projects.

We value problem solvers who can handle multiple tasks, travel up to 20% of the time, and work effectively in a team. A bachelor’s degree in structural/civil engineering and FE exam progress are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• Master’s degree in Structural Engineering.
• FE exam taken and licensure in progress is a plus.
• 0-5+ years of structural design experience, water resource related experience a plus.
• Knowledge of design codes and standards relevant to water resources and civil infrastructure.
• Experience with structural analysis software including linear FEA modeling.
• Knowledge of seismic design requirements from ASCE and related agencies.

Responsibilities

• Establish project specific design criteria using structural design codes, standards, and jurisdictional requirements.
• Gather, review, and organize historical project information including drawings and specifications.
• Prepare Design Documentation Reports and Technical Memoranda summarizing project criteria and design methods.
• Perform structural computations and analysis by hand and with design software following current codes.
• Develop project details and drawings by hand drafting or CAD software.
• Edit project specific technical specifications and assist with the Project Manual.
• Support construction phase services including submittal review, RFIs, on‑site inspections and conformance reporting.
