Job summary

Design Hire LLC in Cleveland, OH is seeking a Structural Engineer to support restoration assessment, design, and project execution for existing structures. You will perform field investigations, CAD production, and hands-on project involvement from assessment through construction.

The ideal candidate has a Civil or Structural Engineering background, experience evaluating or restoring structures, and is comfortable traveling to project sites for assessments and coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
• Experience evaluating, repairing, or restoring existing structures is required.
• Experience with parking structures, garages, plazas, building envelopes, roofs, or similar built structures is preferred.
• AutoCAD experience preferred, especially CAD production and engineering drawings.
• Willingness to travel to project sites for assessments and coordination.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Organized with ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Perform condition assessments, site investigations, field testing, and construction observation for existing structures.
• Analyze field data, review structural conditions, and develop repair and maintenance solutions.
• Support restoration design work, including drawings, details, specifications, and construction documentation.
• Assist with project management, client coordination, meetings, schedules, submittals, shop drawings, and field quantity reviews.
• Prepare cost estimates, technical reports, repair alternatives, and design documentation for restoration projects.
