Waukegan Steel is seeking a Project Engineer to support the Project Management team through the entire project lifecycle. You will help with scheduling, coordination, submittal and shop drawing processes, change management, and day-to-day project execution.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and eager to build a career in structural steel fabrication and construction. Strong communication and technical skills are essential for success in this fast-paced environment.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering is required.
• General construction knowledge is expected.
• Strong interest in steel fabrication and construction Industry.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural/structural drawings, blueprints, and steel shop drawing packages.
• Knowledge of AIA billing procedures (G702/G703).
• Experience processing and tracking submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
• Familiarity with Procore or similar construction management software preferred.
• Jobsite and field measuring experience are a strong plus.
• Team-oriented and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills; able to prioritize and manage multiple projects.

Responsabilidades

• Support Project Managers from award through closeout.
• Assist with project scheduling, coordination, and execution activities.
• Coordinate and track shop drawing submissions and approvals.
• Process and track submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project documentation.
• Assist with project billing and support AIA billing processes (G702/G703).
• Coordinate with customers, architects, engineers, detailers, vendors, and field personnel.
• Monitor project milestones, deliverables, and schedules.
• Support field measuring, site visits, and project closeout activities as needed.
