IMEG is growing, and we'd love you to join our team! We are currently seeking a Structural Project Engineer. This role is eligible for remote work or can be based in our Columbus, OH office. The successful candidate will manage design and inspection projects independently, work well with others, and advocate for our services while working directly with clients. Our major industries include cement and grain, but we also work with materials ranging from roofing granules to plastic pellets. Our scope includes working at heights and confined space entry into material storage silos. Inspectors must be able to perform duties at elevation and maintain focus.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Read and understand construction documents to gather critical data during and after inspections;
  • Observe various structures/silos [concrete and steel] in the field and identify deficiencies;
  • Collect measurements and photos accurately, and record observations concisely;
  • Perform inspections from personnel lifts or cable rigging on silos;
  • Conduct interior confined space inspections within silos;
  • Collaborate with facility personnel and rigging sub-consultants to achieve inspection objectives;
  • Establish and maintain positive client relationships and describe field observations effectively;
  • Write detailed technical reports on structural history, inspection methods, observations, and recommendations;
  • Ensure reports align with IMEG standards, with a focus on descriptive content;
  • Perform structural analysis and work with designers on repair drawings for observed deficiencies;
  • Apply design engineering experience in reinforced concrete, steel, masonry, or wood;
  • Coordinate with the design department to develop structural drawings;
  • Be available for out-of-state travel, approximately 1-2 weeks per month, depending on workload and performance.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously;
  • Proficient in technical report writing;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to work independently and in teams;
  • Willingness to meet client schedules and deadlines;
  • Proficient in RISA, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and AutoCAD.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering or equivalent;
  • Master's in Structural Engineering preferred;
  • PE license required;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in bulk material handling design consulting, with 6 preferred;
  • Knowledge of ACI, AISC, IBC codes;
  • Certifications such as MSHA, OSHA 10, Confined Space Entry Training;
  • This position is not eligible for sponsorship.

Salary Range: $89,000 - $134,000, with variations based on location, experience, and skills. Benefits include bonuses, stock options, health insurance, wellness programs, retirement plans, paid holidays, and PTO.
