Principal Responsibilities
  1. Read and understand construction documents and comprehend critical information necessary for data collection during and after inspections.
  2. Observe various structures/silo types [concrete and steel] in the field and perceive structural deficiencies.
  3. Collect accurate measurements and photos during inspections, and record concise notes of observations.
  4. Perform inspections from personnel lifts or cable rigging on material storage silos.
  5. Conduct interior confined space inspections within silos to observe structural elements.
  6. Collaborate with facility personnel to establish inspection objectives and guide rigging sub-consultants.
  7. Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients onsite and effectively describe field observations in reports.
  8. Write detailed technical reports describing the structure's history, inspection methods, observations, conclusions, and recommendations.
  9. Ensure reports meet IMEG standards, with responsibility for descriptive content; above-average technical report writing is appreciated.
  10. Perform analysis and work with designers on repair drawings for observed deficiencies.
  11. Apply design engineering experience in reinforced concrete, structural steel, masonry, or wood.
  12. Coordinate with IMEG's design department to direct drawing progress and complete code-compliant structural drawings.
  13. Travel out-of-state to inspection sites, typically 1-2 weeks per month, depending on workload and performance.
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Proficiency in technical report writing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in team environments and independently.
  • Willingness to meet client schedules and project deadlines.
  • Proficiency in RISA, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and AutoCAD.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering or equivalent.
  • Master's Degree in Structural Engineering preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience, 6 preferred, in bulk material handling design consulting.
  • Knowledge of ACI, AISC, IBC codes.
  • Certifications: MSHA Miner Training, OSHA 10, Confined Space Entry Training.
  • This position is not eligible for sponsorship.

Salary Range: $89,000 - $134,000, with variations based on experience and location. Benefits include bonuses, stock options, health insurance, wellness programs, life and disability insurance, retirement plans, paid holidays, and PTO.
