IMEG is growing, and we'd love to have you join our team! We are currently seeking a Structural Project Engineer. This position is eligible for remote work or could be located in our Columbus, OH office. As a Structural Project Engineer, you will autonomously manage design and inspection projects. The ideal candidate can self-manage, work well with others, and advocate for our services while working directly with clients. Major industries served include the cement and grain industry, with work ranging from roofing granules to plastic pellets. The scope of services routinely includes working at heights and permit-required confined space entry into material storage silos. Inspectors must be able to perform duties at elevation and maintain focus.

Principal Responsibilities
  1. Read and understand construction documents and comprehend critical information necessary for data collection during and after inspections.
  2. Observe various structures/silo types [concrete and steel] in the field and perceive structural deficiencies.
  3. Collect accurate measurements and photos during inspections; record concise notes of observations.
  4. Perform inspections from personnel lifts or cable rigging on material storage silos.
  5. Inspect interior confined spaces within silos to observe structural elements.
  6. Collaborate with facility personnel to establish inspection objectives and guide rigging sub-consultants.
  7. Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients onsite and describe field observations in reports.
  8. Write detailed technical reports including structure history, inspection methods, observations, conclusions, and recommendations.
  9. Ensure reports generally align with IMEG standards; responsible for descriptive content.
  10. Perform analysis and work with designers on repair drawings for deficiencies found during inspections.
  11. Apply design engineering experience in reinforced concrete, structural steel, masonry, and wood.
  12. Work with IMEG's design department to direct drawing progress and complete code-compliant structural drawings.
  13. Be available for out-of-state travel, typically 1-2 weeks per month, depending on workload and performance.
Required Skills/Abilities
  1. Manage multiple projects concurrently.
  2. Proficiency in technical report writing.
  3. Strong written and verbal communication skills for internal and external stakeholders.
  4. Ability to work in team settings and independently.
  5. Willingness to meet client schedules and project deadlines.
  6. Proficiency in RISA, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and AutoCAD.
Education and Experience
  1. Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering or equivalent.
  2. Master's Degree in Structural Engineering preferred.
  3. Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  4. Minimum 5 years of experience in bulk material handling design consulting; 6+ preferred.
  5. Knowledge of ACI, AISC, IBC codes.
  6. Certifications: MSHA Miner Training (Form 5000-23) Part 46 and 48, OSHA 10, Confined Space Entry Training.
  7. This position is not eligible for sponsorship.

Salary Range: $89,000 - $134,000, based on experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Benefits include bonuses, stock options, health insurance, wellness programs, life/disability insurance, retirement plan, paid holidays, and PTO.
