IMEG is growing, and we'd love to have you join our team! We are currently seeking a Structural Project Engineer. This position is eligible for remote work or could be located in our Columbus, OH office. As a Structural Project Engineer, you will autonomously manage design and inspection projects. The ideal candidate can self-manage, work well with others, and advocate for our services while working directly with clients. Major industries served include cement and grain, with work ranging from roofing granules to plastic pellets. Our scope includes working at heights and permit-required confined space entry into material storage silos. Inspectors must be able to perform duties at elevation and maintain focus.

Principal Responsibilities
  1. Read and understand construction documents for data collection during inspections;
  2. Observe structures/silos (concrete and steel) and identify deficiencies;
  3. Collect measurements, photos, and notes during inspections;
  4. Perform inspections from lifts or cable rigging;
  5. Enter confined spaces within silos for structural observations;
  6. Collaborate with facility personnel and rigging sub-consultants;
  7. Establish and maintain positive client relationships and describe observations;
  8. Write detailed technical reports with observations, conclusions, and recommendations;
  9. Perform analysis and work with designers on repair drawings;
  10. Apply design experience in reinforced concrete, structural steel, masonry, or wood;
  11. Coordinate with the design department to develop structural drawings;
  12. Travel out-of-state 1-2 weeks per month as needed.
Required Skills/Abilities
  1. Manage multiple projects concurrently;
  2. Proficient in technical report writing;
  3. Strong communication skills (written and verbal);
  4. Ability to work in teams and independently;
  5. Meet client schedules and deadlines;
  6. Proficient in RISA, Microsoft Office, and AutoCAD.
Education and Experience
  1. Bachelor’s in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering (required);
  2. Master’s in Structural Engineering (preferred);
  3. PE License (required);
  4. Minimum 5 years’ experience in bulk material handling design consulting (preferred 6+);
  5. Knowledge of ACI, AISC, IBC codes;
  6. Certifications: MSHA, OSHA 10, Confined Space Entry Training;
  7. This position is not eligible for sponsorship.

Salary Range: $89,000 - $134,000. Compensation varies based on experience, skills, and location. Benefits include bonuses, stock options, health insurance, wellness programs, retirement plans, paid holidays, and PTO.
