Bala Consulting Engineers invites a motivated structural engineer with 4–8 years of experience to join our Boston-area team onsite. The role will design and serve as the structural EOR for new construction, renovations and additions, and develop strong client relationships across diverse markets.

Candidates should hold a structural or civil degree, be an EIT with a structural focus (PE preferred), and excel in collaboration, problem-solving and business development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil with structural emphasis.
• Licensed or in training: EIT; PE preferred.
• Minimum 4 years' experience in structural design of buildings.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team.
• Strong interpersonal and client-relations skills.
• Willingness to engage in marketing and business development.

Responsibilities

• Design and act as the structural E.O.R. for buildings.
• Provide consultations to clients and prospective clients.
• Support MEP departments on infrastructure and fit-out projects.
• Adapt to commercial, residential, industrial, institutional and retail sectors.
• Pursue other structural engineering paths aligned with Bala’s vision.

Bala Structures is seeking a motivated structural engineer with 4-8 years of experience wo work onsite out of our Boston office. Strong interpersonal skills for developing client relationships is a must. We are looking at qualified applicants with diverse backgrounds to help continue to grow the Structures group at Bala.

This role will work in a multitude of services within structural engineering including, but not limited to:

• Design and serve as, or work with, the structural E.O.R. for building designs of new construction, renovations and additions.
• Provide consultations to clients and prospective clients for structural work.
• Support BALA’s MEP departments on infrastructure and fit-out projects.
• Adapt to the varieties of business sectors such as commercial, residential, industrial, institutional and retail.
• In addition, we support any path within the realm of structural engineer that aligns with BALA’s vision.

Job Requirements:

• Structural Engineering, or Civil Degree with structural emphasis, from an accredited institution.
• Registered EIT with a focus on Structural Engineering; Registered PE preferred
• 4 years minimum experience in structural design of buildings
• Creative problem-solving skills
• Capable of working individually, and in a team environment.
• Ability to thrive in collaborative work situations.
• A drive for thorough research, and multi-disciplinary curiosities.
