Bala Structures, part of Bala Consulting Engineers, is seeking a seasoned structural engineer for the Boston office. The role focuses on design, client engagement, and cross-disciplinary collaboration across commercial, residential, and institutional projects.

With a strong emphasis on engineering excellence, the candidate will contribute to a growing Structures group, work onsite in Boston, and participate in marketing and business development activities, while maintaining high design standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in structural engineering or civil with structural emphasis.
• Active EIT registration; PE preferred.
• 10+ years of structural design experience in buildings.

Responsibilities

• Design and serve as or collaborate on the structural E.O.R. for building projects.
• Provide consultations to clients on structural work and feasibility.
• Support MEP departments on infrastructure and fit-out projects.
• Operate across commercial, residential, industrial, institutional and retail sectors.

Bala Structures is seeking a motivated experienced structural engineer to join the Boston office. Strong interpersonal skills for developing client relationships is a must. We are looking at qualified applicants with diverse backgrounds to help continue to grow the Structures group at Bala.

This role will work in a multitude of services within structural engineBering including, but not limited to:

• Design and serve as, or work with, the structural E.O.R. for building designs of new construction, renovations and additions.
• Provide consultations to clients and prospective clients for structural work.
• Support BALA’s MEP departments on infrastructure and fit-out projects.
• Adapt to the varieties of business sectors such as commercial, residential, industrial, institutional and retail.
• In addition, we support any path within the realm of structural engineer that aligns with BALA’s vision.

Job Requirements:

• Structural Engineering, or Civil Degree with structural emphasis, from an accredited institution.
• Registered EIT with a focus on Structural Engineering; Registered PE preferred
• 10+ years experience in structural design of buildings
• Creative problem-solving skills
• Capable of working individually, and in a team environment.
• Ability to thrive in collaborative work situations.
• A drive for thorough research, and multi-disciplinary curiosities.
• An affinity for marketing and business development.
