Job summary

Matrix Design Group invites a Mid-Level Structural Project Engineer to join their Colorado Springs office. You will own design assignments on buildings, bridges, foundations, and water infrastructure, working with seasoned engineers to deliver complex projects.

You will contribute to planning, budgeting, and proposals while applying solid structural analysis and practical design judgment in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in structural engineering.
• Professional Engineering licensure or ability to obtain PE within one year.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience with an emphasis in structural engineering.
• Strong industry relationships and knowledge of municipal, state, and federal criteria.
• Demonstrated project management experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural calculations per codes, standards, and project requirements.
• Prepare drawings, construction documents, specs, and cost estimates using industry software.
• Coordinate with project managers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver quality projects on time and within budget.
• Communicate progress and technical issues to teams and clients as appropriate.
• Prepare permitting packages and technical reports for projects in various jurisdictions.
• Assist with proposals, budgets, scope development, and proposal preparation.
• Conduct QA/QC reviews of calculations, drawings, and technical documents.
• Contribute to improving engineering processes and workflows.
