Matrix Design Group, Inc. in Colorado Springs is seeking a structural engineer who will take ownership of design assignments for buildings, bridges, and other civil structures, working with experienced engineers and project managers on varied projects.

You will apply creative problem solving, develop detailed, constructible designs, and participate in proposals and quality control while contributing to Matrix's growth and long-term career development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering with a structural emphasis.
• PE licensure or ability to obtain within one year.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in structural engineering.
• Strong relationships with municipal, state, and federal criteria.
• Demonstrated project management experience.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass MVR.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural calculations per codes and project requirements.
• Prepare drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate with project managers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Communicate progress, issues, and recommendations to teams/clients.
• Prepare permitting packages and technical reports for various jurisdictions.
• Assist with project planning, budgeting, scope development, and proposals.
• Conduct QA/QC reviews of calculations, drawings, and documents.
• Contribute to improving engineering processes and workflows.
