Job summary

Stratus is seeking a Structural Project Engineer in Concord, CA to lead the design of building and infrastructure projects from concept to occupancy, ensuring safety, reliability, and code compliance.

The role requires 4+ years of civil engineering experience, an ABET-accredited degree, and EIT; PE is a plus. Proficiency with STAAD Pro, Ram Elements or RISA 3D, and Autodesk CAD/Advanced Steel is preferred; some travel may be required.

Qualifications

ABET-accredited civil engineering degree.
EIT is required; PE is a plus.
4+ years of engineering experience.
Proficiency with STAAD Pro, Ram Elements or RISA 3D.
Familiarity with Autodesk products (CAD, Advanced Steel, etc.) preferred.
Experience designing structural systems in concrete, steel, masonry, and wood.

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications.
Perform structural analysis using software and hand calculations.
Develop working knowledge of building codes (State-specific, IBC, ASCE, etc.).
Work with designers/drafters to produce construction drawings and specifications.
Conduct field investigations and assessments to document existing conditions.
Develop detailed reports, structural assessments/analysis, and repair recommendations.
Perform construction phase services such as submittal review and RFIs.
Meet project budgets, schedules, and performance criteria with the team.
Some travel may be required (approximately 10%).
