Job summary

Thornton Tomasetti is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer for the Renewal Practice in the United States. The role focuses on structural analysis, repair design, renovation projects, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, durable solutions for existing buildings.

Ideal candidates have at least two years in structural design/repair, a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Architecture (Master’s preferred), and are willing to travel domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

• At least two years of structural design, repair, renovation, and/or retrofit design.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Architecture; Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience with existing buildings for renovation and extensions is a plus; ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Completing structural analysis and repair rehabilitation design of concrete, steel, timber, masonry, and other structural systems.
• Coordinate design work with in-house staff and external consultants, Architects, Cost Consultants, and Contractors.
• Work on renovation, demolition, and expansion of current structural buildings.

Our multidisciplinary design and assessment services cover a wide range of needs. We perform condition assessments, investigations, feasibility studies, and peer reviews. We design repairs, renovations, and alterations and oversee their execution in the field.

The Role

We have an immediate opportunity for Senior Structural Engineer for our Renewal Practice. We are looking for a candidate with an interest in structural design, structural repair, renovation, retrofit design, demolition, and/or property loss consulting.

Responsibilities

• Completing structural analysis and repair rehabilitation design of concrete, steel, timber, masonry, and other structural systems.
• Coordination of design work with in-house staff as well as other consultants including Architects and other Engineering disciplines, Cost Consultants, and Contractors.
• Projects will be in structural repair, renovation, demolition, and expansion of current structural buildings.

Requirements

• At least two years of structural design, repair, renovation, and/or retrofit design.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Architecture. Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience with existing buildings for renovation and extensions is a plus.
• Ability and willingness to travel within the US and internationally.
