Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands in Brookhaven, MS is hiring a MIG welder for a full-time role. The position offers a base pay of $18.50–$19.00 per hour, with a Monday–Friday 7:00 AM–3:30 PM shift.

You will work on structural steel, read blueprints, and ensure weld quality in a fast-paced environment. Applicants should have at least 1 year of production welding experience or a welding certification, and be willing to obtain CWB/AWS certifications.

Qualifications

• A minimum of one (1) year experience welding in a production environment or valid welding certification.
• Ability to read blueprints and drawings.
• Ability to obtain and maintain CWB and AWS welding certification in accordance with Cornerstone Building Brands welding procedures.
• Experience with forklift and/or overhead crane operation a plus.
• Comfort with power hand tools.
• Willingness to train, certify, and operate forklift and overhead crane.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work collaboratively in a team.
• General mathematical knowledge and ability to use basic measuring instruments.

Responsibilities

• Engages in MIG weld processes on structural steel including frames, rafters, pipe and small parts.
• Maintain safety rules for manufacturing environments.
• Set welding parameters, gun speed, travel, and gas flow based on bead condition.
• Read tape measures and blueprints to shop standards.
• Train and teach proper welding procedures per manufacturing job procedures.
• Operate overhead crane and other lifting equipment.
• Maintain bead shape, size, and penetration while ensuring product quality.
• Keep numerical and alphabetical sequences accurate.
• Support continuous improvement in the work area.
