Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services is seeking an experienced field crew member for structural steel erection, alignment, bolting and welding on active sites. You will read drawings, interpret instructions, and coordinate with hoisting teams to position heavy members safely.

The role involves material handling, basic welding, tool maintenance and strict adherence to safety standards. Ideal candidates are reliable, detail‑oriented and able to work as part of a crew on demanding projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is commonly required for this field.
• Ability to follow instructions and established guidelines.
• Work under supervision; independent judgment not typically required.

Responsibilities

• Set up hoisting equipment and place structural steel members.
• Fasten steel members to hoist cables using chain, cable or rope.
• Signal hoist operator to lift and place members.
• Guide members into position with tag lines.
• Bolt and weld steel members as needed to final position.
• Verify alignment using plumb bob and level.
• Load, transport, and unload materials and tools.
• Perform minor maintenance and keep equipment clean.
