Job summary

IMEG is seeking a Structural Intern for a 10–12 week summer program in Fairfax, VA. You will assist in analysis, design, and oversight of structural systems across diverse building types while collaborating with seasoned engineers and colleagues.

The internship emphasizes project delivery, documentation, and cross-disciplinary coordination. Applicants should have completed at least two years toward a BS in Civil/Structural/Architectural Engineering, with interest in design consulting and

Qualifications

• Two years of study toward a BS in civil/structural/architectural engineering or equivalent.
• Interest in design consulting for structural projects.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook).
• Experience with AutoCAD or BIM software is preferred.
• Effective written and oral communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with structural design portions of projects according to code and IMEG standards.
• Assist with researching project resources.
• Assist with client relations, project design notebooks, and documentation for permanent record files.
• Coordinate design and schedule with multidisciplinary teams.
• Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions; monitor progress.
• Review project documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare and issue addendum information.
• Conduct periodic job site observations and other required services.
